Turnquest Advisors is grounded in the principles of service, focus and execution. With a passion for leadership and assisting people and organizations through the tumultuous process of change and transition, Karen Turnquest founded Turnquest Advisors to do just that. With a holistic approach to personal and professional success, Karen works to help her clients achieve their goals and position themselves to maintain consistent performance through all types of external conditions.
With a background in engineering, including a B.S. in chemical engineering from M.I.T. and two Masters of Science degrees, Karen expanded her expertise by attaining her Executive MBA through Baylor University. It is through her studies at Baylor that she was introduced to a new way of looking at the business world which shifted her focus from engineering research and development to organizational development and change.
Karen has led several teams and held several positions at Fortune 500 companies, focused on leadership development, performance, operational enhancement and organizational change. She has volunteered with many organizations such as the National Black MBA Association and The Baylor University Women's Council, helping them with organizational change and increasing their ability to extend their reach and recognize more of their organization's potential to meet the needs of members and alumnae. Karen has also served as President of Baylor's Executive MBA Advisory Board.
Karen spends her time serving as a business strategist by coaching, facilitating workshops, speaking and working with people, in a variety of industries, to take their members, groups, teams and organizations to the next level. In addition, Karen teaches leadership and ethics to business students at the university level. Originally from The Bronx, New York, Karen currently resides in Austin, Texas with her family.
